Neuschwanstein (via filippo rome)
This German castle’s literal meaning is ‘new swan stone palace’. It is a 19th-century Bavarian palace located on a mountain top near Hohenschwangau and Füssen in southwest Bavaria.
The palace was built by Ludwig II of Bavaria as a retreat and as a homage to the now-famous composer Richard Wagner, the King’s inspiring muse. Every room in the palace is a different theme of Wagner’s works.
This palace was the inspiration for the Cinderella and the Sleeping Beauty fairytale castles and the establishments in Disneyland.
